History resonates with the melody of the ancient era and civilization. Our cognitive expansion will remain rudimentary if we don't explore our ancestors' age-old narrative.
Many of the places bear the precedent of our history and certainly, Mohera Jomider Bari is one of them. It is located at the Dhaka-Tangail Highway, about 4 km east of Natiapara Bazar at Mirzapur. People believe that it was established during the Mughal period. The mansion was the dwelling place of a 19th-century landlord.
The whole structure stands around an area of eight acres, manifesting the culture and lifestyle of the British era. A vast flower yard has encircled the entire place and two grand entrances are observed here. Sculptures of two deer figures are seen in one of the entrances who are royally welcoming the visitors.
There is also a lake called “Bishakha Shagor'' and two ponds called Posra Pond and Rani Pond. The gateway road is made of red bricks. Inside the Jomidar Bari area, there are three huge main buildings with Naib Saheb's house, Kachari's house, Gomstad's house, Dighi, and four more lodges. The names of the lodges are Chowdhury, Kali Charan, Maharaj, and Ananda. These buildings’ structures firmly express the affluence of archaic architecture.
All of them are painted white with a glimpse of golden color. The detailing artwork and designs of these buildings explicitly demonstrate the luxurious taste of ancient people. Each of them has a distinct architecture style like Maharaj lodge is the manifestation of Byzantine architecture and Kali Charan lodge contains British architecture. Undoubtedly one will just drive into the realm of history by visiting this place. The whole area truly reflects our roots.
